Q&A with Adam Wolocko
How would you summarize what you do?
I’m a problem solver. I get a thrill from solving puzzles, playing games, and completing challenges. I love help helping clients achieve success by solving their hardest problems and achieving their most lofty goals.
What work/project are you proudest of and what impact has it made?
I am most proud of projects that got to where they needed to be rather than where we started out going. These projects typically demonstrate a focus on an outcome vs scope, have very strong partnerships with our clients and demonstrate the flexibility and agility of teams to deliver in competitive software spaces.
What’s unique about working for Inpsire11?
I find myself pushed every day by the leadership at Inspire11 to change the world not just improve my team or deliver my work. This inspiration is followed up with the autonomy to define my path to success and the support when I am struggling to move it forward.
How has your background shaped how you think, relate to others, and conquer challenges?
My background has grounded me in hard work, critical thinking, creative solution, and (probably an unhealthy) desire to win. This combination helps me focus on impactful outcomes and push through barriers to achieve success.
What does “inspiring a better tomorrow for all” mean to you?
To me, “inspiring a better tomorrow for all” has 2 key themes. The first is to constantly push for improvement. No matter good or bad today was, tomorrow can always be better. The second theme is partnership. “For all” implies we can create win-win situations that better the world, not just ourselves.
Describe how you’ve grown professionally since you started working for Inspire11?
I have grown on a daily basis and in so many ways that I don’t think I would recognize myself from when I started Inspire11.
How do you turn it up to 11?
Growing up my dad used to always refer to his favorite Ben Franklin quote “Well Done is Better than Well Said”. Now as part of Inspire11 this still rings true. To me, turning it up to 11 is as simple as actually doing what others only talk about.
If you have to be odd to be an Eleven, what makes you odd?
Not sure if this is odd… but I do like to debate with myself (and others). Even while I’m sitting quietly, I am probably overanalyzing and debating possibilities in my head.
What’s a fun fact about you that many people may not know?
I’m under 6 ft tall but have a 6’5″ wingspan. In my younger years, it helped me dunk a basketball.
What’s your motto or personal mantra?
“Be about it” – A lifelong friend and I used to say this to each to spark confidence, decisiveness, and action (mostly when doing stupid things). Years later, “Be about it” is a reminder to back up my words up with my actions.
What’s one item you can’t live without?
Like most of us… I’m a hostage to my phone. I would love to have it removed from my life!
What advice would you give someone who wants to enter your field?
First impressions are everything. They set the expectations for your clients, partners, team members, etc. But they also set the expectation for you.
What are you most proud of regarding Inspire11?
Our people do the right things for the right reasons. I feel that every week I am blown away by the integrity and quality of our people from top to bottom. It inspires me to be better every day!
Which company values resonate with you most?
Be passionately curious and raise the bar.
